SUMMARY:Regional Leadership Training Conference North Kono
DESCRIPTION:We strongly believe that students on campus today will be the leaders of every facet of society tomorrow. To ensure they are prepared\, SLEFES through various platforms such as the annually “Regional Leadership Training Conference” has groom the students in the Jesus model of Servant-leadership. This we believe\, will make them irrefutable leaders today on campus and society upon graduation. We build the future leaders today. \n\n\n\nREGIONAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING CONFERENCE REPORT 2022\n\n\n\nINTRODUCTION \n\n\n\nThe strategic resources in any institution is the human resources\, the level of development and training given to the leaders will determine the impact and growth of the institution. On this backdrop\, we see our student leaders as strategic component in achieving the vision of SLEFES in the different campuses. The regional leadership training conference gears towards capacity building for leaders and emerging leaders\, this goal was achieved – to God be the glory. This report covers the theme exposition\, student attendance\, conference topics and the challenges. \n\n\n\nTHEME EXPOSITION “AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP” PSALM 78:72 \n\n\n\nThe theme exposition for this year’s conference was handled by the Training Secretary of SLEFES\, Mr. Joseph Benkutay Conteh. In His presentation we looked at King David as an Authentic leader who shepherd the children of Israel with Integrity of heart and skillfulness of hands. \n\n\n\nWe looked at the three (3) S of Authentic Leadership: \n\n\n\n\nSelf-Preparation\n\n\n\nSelf-Discipline\n\n\n\nSacrifice\n\n\n\n\nOn the second day\, we looked at Jesus Christ as an authentic Leader and His approach to leadership. In His journey with the disciples he demonstrated three (3) authentic leadership development models: \n\n\n\n\nEmpowerment Model\n\n\n\nServant leadership Model\n\n\n\nTransformative Model\n\n\n\n\nATTENDANCE \n\n\n\nThe student attendance attracted students from nine (9) Christian unions within the western region\, with an attendance of (40) student leaders. \n\n\n\nSPEAKERS AND TOPICS \n\n\n\nThe leadership training conference caters for student leaders in and holistic manner where we developed topics that address issues affecting the different Christian unions\, below are the topics covered: \n\n\n\n\n Mr. Joseph Benkutay Conteh          Authentic Leadership\n\n\n\n Mr. Joseph J. Sesay                        The power of team work in achieving your goal as an authentic leader.\n\n\n\nMr. Joseph Benkutay Conteh          Effective communication\, meeting and report writing\n\n\n\nMr. Albright M S Barrie                 The integrity and influence of an authentic leader.\n\n\n\nMr. Albright M S Barrie                 The power of the Holy Spirit in developing an authentic leader\n\n\n\nPanels                                             Godly relationship that leads to marriage\n\n\n\n\nSTUDENTS FEEDBACK \n\n\n\nThe topics addressed in this conference was timely\, the student leaders see the conference as a mandate that they should be authentic as well as develop the next generation of Authentic leaders that will provide leadership for the campus fellowship. \n\n\n\nCHALLENGES \n\n\n\nThe students’ cooperation for the program in term of attendance was good but didn’t have representative from the different CUs in the western region\, which was our goal\, to train leaders in all the campuses were SLEFES is in operation. \n\n\n\nThe student constituent direly need to step up in the area of their commitment and responsibility\, in order for the effective and efficient running of their lunch time fellowship on campus \n\n\n\nWe have seen low commitment on our student leaders in the area of acquiring new skills especially on leadership development\, integrity management and capacity building. \n\n\n\nRECOMMENDATION \n\n\n\nWe encourage and motivate our student leaders to embrace knowledge acquisition and skill development as the keys towards strategic leadership.  Knowledge is a unique tool to build a firm foundation in our leadership development journey. \n\n\n\nOur student leaders in the different campuses should prepare to attend leadership development training programs such as the Public Lectures and Regional Leadership Training Conference. \n\n\n\nCONCLUSION \n\n\n\nTo God be the glory! The regional leadership training conference was successful\, By God’s grace our student leaders are ready to maximize the knowledge gained as well as the required skills needed in the Christian Union base on our mission statement REACHING STUDENTS FOR CHRIST TO IMPACT OUR NATION.  \n\n\n\nPREPARE AND PRESENTED BY: \n\n\n\nMr. Joseph Benkutay Conteh \n\n\n\nTraining Secretary\, Western region. \n\n\n\nFree
